This weekend marks something special for the web3 communities in Vancouver and beyond. The much-anticipated F3STIVAL will be taking place in our own backyard! With the event’s focus on welcoming and celebrating women in the world of web3, we’re super excited to announce that our very own Sandy Liu, Shape’s Head of Growth, will be speaking on stage with a panel of web3 leaders on the topic “WTF is web3?”
Edgy title isn’t it? But it is the type of bluntness and clarity that we crave in this cutting-edge space as technologies and definitions evolve. Sandy will be speaking to a series of common questions around web3, such as:
F3STIVAL is a women-led conference welcoming 1000+ women to web3 that will be hosted in Vancouver BC from July 9-10, 2022 at the Emily Carr University of Art + Design.
Over two days, a full cast of women speakers and educators will discuss topics such as web3, the metaverse, blockchain, crypto, NFTs, DeFi, DAO and more. Participants will also get hands-on experience in setting up a wallet and leaving with a real web3 experience.
The event will feature female artists and performers from around the world through music, movement, and an NFT gallery. Topping off the event will be a pitch competition where one female-founded web3 company will be awarded a $25,000 investment, funded and decided on by F3STIVAL ticket holders. The event will also be live-streamed online. The Shape team is more than thrilled to show our support in cultivating a diverse and thriving community of leaders in the web3 space.

Sandy is an experienced marketer and product strategist with a decade of experience developing strategies for global brands, startups, and nonprofits to create engaging immersive experiences. She brings a blend of expertise from establishing a top global ad agency’s digital marketing department to product marketing at Adobe and founding a consultancy advising arts institutions in making AR/VR experiences. Sandy now serves as the Head of Engagement for Shape Immersive, leading Shape’s efforts in helping companies achieve growth and success through building and amplifying their metaverse strategies. Sandy holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
